Of Counsel Consulting, LLC is owned by Brian Ritchey. Brian has been involved in utilizing technology with law practice for over 10 years. Practicing law off and on for 7 years, Brian found that the only system to determine what technology solutions fit with an area of practice relied upon reference clients supplied by vendors or from word-of-mouth. This led Brian to actively search out solutions and test them himself. Soon, Brian found technology taking over his passsion for the law.
Brian has worked with practice management technology companies as well as accounting system software companies and has spent considerable time learning the logic of developers so he could help devise solutions for his clients. At Profession Management Technologies he helped develop an implementation utility that shortened implementation times from several weeks to a few hours. At Juris, Brian took a third-party software integration and helped develop a collection system based on best practices.
Once Juris was acquired by LexisNexis, Brian was tapped to take over Tom Collin’s award-winning financial management blog, More Partner Income. Brian also spoke at trade shows, legal seminars and CLE’s advocating practice management solutions and measuring profit drivers.
Brian has been a public speaker, has written for several legal publications, and provided tailored benchmarking presentations and strategic planning guidance to Juris clients.
Brian obtained his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law after attending the University of Alabama for his undergraduate degree in English. He was admitted to the Alabama Bar in 1997, is licensed and in good standing with the Alabama Bar, the U.S. District Courts of Alabama for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts as well as the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
